Dr. Ahmad performs a multitude of cosmetic procedures which are described in the following pages. Cosmetic procedures that open the upper eyelids are described first and include, forehead lifts, upper eyelid blepharoplasty and upper eyelid ptosis repair. Lower eyelid cosmetic procedures include lower eyelid blepharoplasty, and lower eyelid tightening. Removal of benign lesions(non-malignant) around the eyelids may also be considered cosmetic.

Many patients have lower eyelid problems that cause eye irritation or inability to close the eyelids. These procedures may qualify for medical insurance coverage depending on the findings and exact issue that needs to be addressed.

Excision of skin cancers around the eyelids as well as reconstruction of the eyelids is always considered medically necessary and is not a cosmetic procedure. Some patients would like further cosmetic improvement after eyelid surgery like scar revison or even surgery on the opposite eyelid to make the eyelids more symmetrical. These procedures are always considered cosmetic unless the scar tissue is causing some problem with eyelid closure or eyelid position.
